Special Needs - About Us

Pink Cow started supplying primary schools with health videos in 1993, and from this quickly made a natural progression into the supply of educational software. Gradually over the years our reputation for providing quality products at competitive prices has grown and with it the number and types of products and services we provide has also expanded, as have the number of customers, from all areas of education and learning.

The Special Needs section of our website highlights products specifically designed to support pupils needing extra help. This not only includes those who are covered by the Code of Practice categories, but as Special Needs Coordinators are often called on to provide support and ideas for children with English as a second or additional language and for those who are gifted and talented, we’ve included a selection of products targeted at these pupils too.

Designed primarily for SENCos, it will also be useful for class teachers and Special Needs Assistants. Our aim is to make it quicker and easier for you to find what you’re looking for to support a specific need.

Using information provided to us by our suppliers, we have tried to categorise each product as accurately as possible under the Code of Practise headings. However in the same way that children may exhibit difficulties in several areas, the products are also often appropriate for use in supporting more than one area. We have used the Code of Practise guidelines to aid our categorisation, so thinking along the same lines will help you go straight to the product best suited to your requirements. Please see the quick reference guide below.

As products are not sorted by age, we have added an age indication to our on-screen product synopsis. Depending on your requirements, looking at standard products for a younger age range in the schools’ section may also prove fruitful. Equally, if you’re looking for switch-enabled products, it’s worth doing a search for this in the schools’ section as many standard products have a switch facility.

More services and products are added every day so please revisit this site from time to time and browse our news and product pages. Regular competitions to win superb resources can be entered, so a visit may even prove financially rewarding!

As with the rest of our website, we look forward to receiving feedback from you. Take a moment to let us know what you think of our Special Needs Section. We are constantly updating and improving it, so your comments are invaluable.

And finally, if you know of a brilliant Special Needs product that’s not featured on our website, let us know – you’ll be helping us to support colleagues in other schools!

Please feel free to contact us with any enquiry or comment or just give us a call using our free phone number 0800 092 2467.

We look forward to being of service.
